Born and raised in the Mola Di Bari area of Puglia, Italy, DeNigris shares his homeland's flavors with the world through authentic preparations.
- A Culinary Legacy: DeNigris' extensive experience in Italy and the US has shaped his culinary style, which is deeply rooted in traditional Pugliese cuisine. After moving to the US in 1971, he helmed kitchens in Chicago, including Primavera in the Fairmont Hotel and La Strada.
- Celebrating Puglia's Cuisine: In 1999, DeNigris opened Trattoria Trulli in Evanston, followed by locations in Logan Square and the Fulton Market neighborhood. After a brief retirement, he opened Osteria Trulli in Arlington Heights, a 50-seat intimate restaurant that has become a pilgrimage-worthy dining destination.
